French Toast Casserole with Maple Sausage

Cubes of custardy French Toast topped with Orrington Farms® Maple Flavored Sausage. Perfect dish for Sunday brunch with friends.

5 cups bread cubes

6 eggs

1 cup half and half

1/4 cup sugar, divided

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tbsp butter, room temperature

1/2 lb Orrington Farms® Maple Flavored Sausage, cooked and crumbled


1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly butter an 8x8 inch baking pan.

2Combine Orrington Farms® Maple Flavored Sausage Seasoning with sausage and cook over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes or until fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces.

3Line bottom of pan with bread cubes.

4In a large bowl, beat together eggs, half and half, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt and vanilla. Pour egg mixture over bread, mix together to ensure all pieces of bread are wet. Brush with butter; let stand for 10-minutes.

5In a small bowl, combine remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle over top of the bread cubes. Top with sausage crumbles.

6Bake for 45-50 minutes, until top is golden.
